Our Process
How building certifications work with KP Building Approvals
We know there can be a lot of unknowns when you’re unfamiliar with the building certification process. The team at KP Building Approvals makes it simple for you.
Here’s how we do it.
Free Quote
The first step is requesting your free quote. The more detail you can provide at this stage, the more accurate the quote will be. It’s best if you can upload your site and building plans with your form submission to give us an early indication of not only the type of property you’re dealing with but the specific design components and any early council “red flags”.
We’ll get back to you with a tailored quote in five to seven business days.
Information Request & Assessment
Once you’ve accepted our quote and paid the initial deposit, we will create your project file and begin the preliminary checks on your property. From there, the certifier will complete a detailed assessment on your proposal. This process typically takes about two weeks to complete. You will receive a list of items that need to be achieved in order to receive an approved building permit.
Stamp & Lodge
Once all the required items are achieved, our team will be able to stamp and lodge your documents with the council. Now it’s time for the exciting part! Your project can commence.
Regular Check-Ins During Construction
Sometimes there are competing priorities and deadlines — we’ve been there. We also know, though, that getting your building approval ticked off is still important. So, we’ll check in with you after four weeks, and then as regularly as you like to see how it’s progressing. This is also to ensure you don’t miss any required inspections!
Completion of Work
Once all final certificates have been received and accepted (as listed on the build permit), your project will be finalised and a Form 21, 16 or 17 will be issued to you and the local council. If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our friendly team.
Take the next step.
Get started by requesting a quote. We’ll be in touch as soon as we can with a price estimate and will hit the ground running with your project.
